God always links random things together to highlight a common theme when He is trying to get a point across to me. Have you ever experienced that? Lately, for me, everything has revolved around my reputation. I did this exercise the other day at a seminar I attended and I wanted to share it with you:
What are 3 words you would use to describe yourself? Really think about it. Got it? Okay. What are 3 words that others (your family, your friends, your neighbors, your colleagues, people on social media, etc.) would use to describe you. Are those words similar?
Okay now you may be thinking that you can’t fully be yourself with that wide variety of people, but, at the core, your principles and your values should still align. Do they? Would most everyone agree with you?

I find myself not behaving or treating others in a way that lines up with the reputation I want to have. But the thing about light is that it’s supposed to shine! Especially in dark places. So, are you shining? Are you being an example? Are you setting a standard by which you operate and treat others? I can’t say that i’m always putting my best effort towards being consistent. Because honestly, that can be challenging and it requires sacrifice. Still, that light must shine. I have a responsibility to let it shine. So do you.
This week I challenge you to think about how you’re shining in the different environments you occupy. Think about how you are shining in your interactions with others. Recognize where you may need to make some changes and begin making those adjustments. Then shine baby, shine!
Making some adjustments,
